New Honorary Consul of Norway
The President of Kotkamills Oy, Mrs. Tuija Suur-Hamari, has been nominated as honorary consul of Norway. The new honorary consulate of Norway was opened in Kotka, Finland on September 13th, 2013 by the Norwegian ambassador to Finland, Mr. Jørg Willy Bronebakk.
The main duties of the new honorary consul are to assist Norwegians in South-East Finland and to strengthen the relations of Norway and Finland in the area.
Norway has a remarkable part in the history of Kotkamills Oy as it was a Norwegian, Mr. Hans Gutzeit, who established the first sawmill on Kotkansaari island in 1872. Since then, the company, including the sawmill, has carried on producing high quality forestry products to its customers.
